Smart money management

Let us look at the first of these requirements – good money management.  There are two aspects to this – setting loss and win limits and playing with wins alone.

The first option is hard, but essential. You need to set yourself a mental loss limit, and tell yourself firmly that you will not play if you lose more than that amount, even if you lose it in your first shot. Often, a player will find himself being persuaded to try again if he finds that the initial bankroll he has equipped himself with has run out quickly. This will only work to your disadvantage. Equally, you should set yourself a win limit, and be able to walk away once you’ve achieved it, instead of being tempted to trust in your run of luck and continue playing.  You need to establish these limits long before you start playing, and remind yourself about them throughout the game.

The second aspect involves beginning the game with a fixed amount of money, which represents your loss limit.  If you happen to lose it all, you should leave the table. If, on the other hand, you win some money, play till you’re able to put aside your initial investment, and after that, play only with your wins. In other words, from then on, your winnings should be your loss limit. You can thus ensure that you don’t incur any loss, and whatever you win will be a profit.

Getting to grips with smart online gambling

Next, you need to understand the smart bets. This is not as difficult as you may think. Basically, you need to remember to bet on pass line and come bets with free odds, and to place bets on the 6 or 8. Apart from this, it is important to hedge your complicated bets. Hedging will of course lower the amount of your winnings, but equally, it reduces the extent of your losses.

Keeping a cool head

Attitude is the last but not the least important component of strategy. A cool head is very useful in Craps, as in any other game. A player must understand that the game is variable, and must start with enough money to give himself a chance. He must understand that his money will first dwindle before increasing, and must resist the temptation to bet large amounts, hoping to recover losses. Also, it is difficult to keep track of very many bets on the board, the more the number of bets, the greater the tension. So it is better to keep it simple so that you can relax and play an intelligent game.
